Getting all of your cards to merge into legitimate sets and runs before your opponents do is the goal. At the conclusion of their turn, each player discards one card after drawing cards sattkfrom the discard pile or the stockpile. The round ends when one player successfully melds all of their cards, but the game goes on until then. Depending on the version they are playing, players can anticipate different gameplay mechanics in Rummy Gold. Some variations, for example, might include jokers or wild cards that can be used in place of any card in a run or set.
